* Books at Berean Conference

I promised a blog on the book sales at the recent conference.  There was a lot of interest in the books this year!  Even before we could get fully set up, we were doing a brisk business.

We sold out of so many titles that Rev. Kleyn ran home during the first speech to get another load of books.

Crowding around the book table.

In all we sold 270 books, more than double last year's sales!  Thanks to the congregations of the PRC for the collections that make the sale and purchase of these books affordable!

I also promised an explanation of why Prof. Engelsma, the featured speaker at the conference, was not on the group picture.  The reason was that many people wanted their books autographed by the author.  :-)

Signing the books.  Don't worry, we soon made a chair available!

Prof. Engelsma was kept busy for quite a length of time, as you can see from the long line.

And last, but not least, a picture of our half empty shelves.  Hopefully our next shipment arrives soon.

May God prosper His cause and truth also through the written word being spread throughout the Philippines by means of these books.  Soli Deo Gloria!

* December 2014 Berean PRC Conference

On December 30, 2014 the Berean PRC hosted a Reformed Theology Conference.  Prof. D. Engelsma, emeritus professor of the Theological School of the Protestant Reformed Churches in America, was the speaker.

The theme of the conference was the "Five Solas of the Reformation" with 3 speeches being delivered on that topic:
1) Scripture Alone on Behalf of Christ Alone
2) Grace Alone by Faith Alone Unto the Glory of God Alone
3) The Place of Good Works in Our Salvation (With the Clear Implication of Salvation by Grace Alone)

Prof. Engelsma, Rev. Ibe, Rev. Flores

The break times for lunch and coffee were a good time to fellowship, meet new contacts and friends, and ask more questions.

There was also a Question and Answer period at which many questions were asked, not all necessarily related to the topic!  :-)

And at the end, time for more discussion

The next blog will show why the speaker wasn't on this picture.  :-)

* New Year 2015

A blessed New Year to you all from us both.  We pray you may experience the Lord's presence and nearness in all that He sends in this coming year.  It is indeed a comfort to know that He knows our way, and is with us each step of the way as our faithful Father in Christ.

We also take this opportunity to thank you all for your support for and interest in the work the Lord has given us here in the Philippines.  We know you remember us in prayer and are encouraged by that.  Be assured of our prayers for you all, too.

In Christian love,
Rev. Daniel & Sharon Kleyn
