From Saturday, October 19 onwards, we made another visit to the island of Negros, to visit the churches and to give the pastors’ classes. Rev. Kleyn’s parents had arrived in Manila just a few days before, so they were able to make the trip with us. After landing in Bacolod City, we drove a few hours south to Sipalay, where we stayed for the weekend.
Sunday morning we drove back north about 20 minutes to the town of Canturay, where the Reformed Christian Church is located.
After Pastor Labrador introduced Rev. Kleyn, Rev. Kleyn led their worship service (same order of worship we are familiar with) and preached for the congregation.
The congregation sang from the Psalter, which we enjoyed.
After eating the delicious lunch that they supplied,
we returned to Sipalay for a few hours of rest.
We returned to the church again at 3:00 in the afternoon for a class led by Rev. Kleyn. At the request of Pastor Labrador, the topic was on office bearers in the church.
After the class there was time for a lot of pictures!
Pastor Labrador and his family (his oldest son is not on the picture).
Some of the congregation.
Pastor Mayang from a church further south was also in attendance with his family.
On Monday we held the pastors’ classes. Mid-afternoon, we drove back to Bacolod and caught our flight back to Manila, arriving home late that evening.
Next time I will have more pictures of interesting sights and events of our trip.
